China Young is a theatre artist and educator based in San Angelo, Texas. She holds a bachelors and masters of fine arts in theatre and focuses on performance, vocal work, directing, and movement. She has also proven to be invaluable in various roles as an arts educator & administrator.
China began performing in her grandmother's living room around 2 years old and grew up on various community theatre stages throughout Texas. If she was not on the stage, she was usually doing something to help backstage, or at the very least in the audience. Her addiction to theatre has led her to act, sing, dance, direct, and devise new works. Committed to honing her craft, China gravitates towards creative opportunities that have meaningful social messages and encourage audiences to expand their perspectives, strengthening our connection as human beings.
As an aspiring theatre educator, China develops curriculum for adult theatre education classes, provides one-on-one performance and vocal mentorship, devised acting workshops for all ages, and is currently an adjunct professor in Angelo State University's Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
